What we can help with

Bugs, browser quirks, wrong or unclear wording, and rules the generator can't express yet. A bug report is most useful with your browser name and version, your operating system, roughly how many people were in the draw, and which rules were switched on — households, blocked pairings, no swap-backs, Quick or Locked. If the tool refused a draw and you think it was wrong to, the message it printed is the useful part, because it names the rule it blamed.

Corrections to the maths or to the claims are welcome and taken seriously. The counts, the expected number of shuffles and the reasoning behind every sentence on the methodology page are published so that they can be checked, and a page that gets something wrong should be fixed rather than defended.

What we cannot help with

We cannot recover a lost link. If a sealed link, a keep link or a participant code has gone missing, there is no copy for us to look up: no account, no database, and no server of ours that ever received it. That is not a support policy we could make an exception to — it is the same property that keeps the draw out of our reach in the first place. A tool that could email you your link back would be a tool that had stored your link.

What to do instead depends on how far the draw has got. While the organizer's tab is still open, the page can re-seal one person's link without touching anyone else's. Once that tab is closed, the cheapest fix is a fresh draw with a new draw ID: one announcement, and nobody has to admit who they had. Drop-outs and redraws works through the options and what each one costs in disclosure.

We cannot tell you who drew whom, for a group of yours or anyone else's. There is no record here to consult, and there is no support route that produces one.

Please don't send us your links

A sealed link carries an assignment, and a keep link is a private key. Both are meant for one person. Emailing either to us puts it in a mailbox for no benefit: we cannot do anything with it that helps you, and we would rather never hold one. If you need to show us what went wrong, describe it, or use the generator's own preview — it opens a dummy link with fake names through exactly the same code path, so it demonstrates the problem without involving your group.

If you do email us, we use your address only to reply, and we don't add you to any list. Our privacy policy covers the rest.
