Terms of Use

Last updated: August 5, 2026

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the tool is

Sealed Draw is a free, browser-based gift-exchange generator. It draws an assignment from the names and rules you enter, seals each person's result into its own link, and leaves the sending to you. Everything runs on your device with your browser's own capabilities, so results can vary with browser, operating system and device. It is a party utility, nothing more: it makes no decision about money, health, employment or anything else of consequence.

No account, so nothing to terminate

There is no sign-up, no login and no profile. You are not a user of a service in the ordinary sense; you are someone loading a page that computes something. There is nothing for us to suspend, close, or lock you out of, and nothing for you to cancel.

We hold nothing, so we can restore nothing

There is no server of ours holding your roster, your rules, your assignments, your sealed links, your keep links or your participant codes. The one exception is disclosed in the privacy policy: the generator keeps your own sealed links, and the names they are for, inside that browser tab so a reload does not destroy a half-distributed draw. If a link is lost, deleted, or sent to the wrong person, there is no backup here to fall back on and no support route that can produce one — for anybody, including you and including us. That is the same property that keeps a draw out of reach in the first place, and it is stated here so that it is a term of use rather than a surprise. Take the durable copy the generator makes you take, and keep it until the gifts are handed out.

No warranty

The site and the tool are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that the site will be available, that any draw will complete, that any link will still open on any given device or browser version, or that the result will suit your group. Verify anything that matters before relying on it, and read the methodology page, which sets out the limits of what this tool can and cannot do rather than leaving them to be inferred.

Use it at your own risk

You are responsible for the names and notes you type, for who you send each link to, and for keeping your own copies. Sending the wrong sealed link to the wrong person is the ordinary way a gift draw is spoiled, and nothing on this site can undo it. If your group needs a stricter arrangement than a Quick draw offers, the tool's Locked mode and its delegation option exist for that, with their costs and their one unprotected moment described on the methodology page.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the site — including a spoiled surprise, a lost link, an unrecoverable draw, or any gift bought or not bought as a result. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it abusively, present it as your own, or use it in violation of applicable law. Don't use it to run a draw for anything that isn't a gift exchange or a comparable social arrangement — it is not built for, and must not be used for, allocating anything of material consequence.

Changes

The tool and these terms may change over time. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms; the date at the top of this page tells you when it last moved.
